Johnstown, PA, September 22, 2005—Daniel R. DeVos, President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) today announced that the U.S. Army Contracting Agency - Information Technology, E-Commerce, and Commercial Contracting Center (ITEC4) recently awarded CTC a two-year Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) to provide Passive Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Technical Engineering Services throughout the Department of Defense (DoD) and the U.S. Coast Guard. The award strengthens CTC's position in the government marketplace as a premier provider of RFID and automated information technology (AIT) services.
CTC was one of only 17 companies, including a number of nationally recognized firms, receiving an award in an open competition. The award will enable CTC, cooperatively with its partner GENCO Infrastructure Solutions Inc. (GIS), to bid on Passive RFID task orders for up to $5 million per task award.
"We provide a depth of program management experience and demonstrated innovation with RFID and AIT applications, which made CTC an excellent candidate for this BPA award," DeVos said. "CTC, and GIS—a wholly owned subsidiary of GENCO, commercial RFID innovator and our partner in this initiative—are poised to provide key technology integration services leveraging significant government and commercial experience for the DoD and U.S. Coast Guard as they seek to implement integrated RFID and AIT applications."
Enzo Zoratto, President, GIS, stated, "We are pleased to be a part of this strategic contract award with CTC." "We look forward to applying our commercially proven RFID experience and other supply chain management advancements developed at our Technology Learning Center to the DoD and U.S. Coast Guard."
The initiative's objective is to provide the DoD with a state-of-the-art, common, integrated structure for logistics identification, tracking, locating, and monitoring of commodities and assets. CTC and GIS may be called upon to provide technical services in the following areas: passive RFID Electronic Product Code-1 equipment integration, site analysis, site survey, installation, de-installation, relocation, problem-solving, user training, software development, communications, interfaces with other government systems, equipment and systems engineering services, systems integration, and assistance in obtaining host-nation certification and approval for commercial communications and radio frequency equipment.
