CTC is Awarded $1.68 Million Contract by Air Force Research Laboratory for Intelligence Operations

June 1, 2007

Johnstown, PA, June 1, 2007—Daniel R. DeVos, President and CEO of Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) today announced that CTC has been awarded a contract worth $1.68M over 15 months under an Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) to apply innovative, technologies to collect and process ELectronic Signals INTelligence (ELINT) and their associated SIGnals INTelligence (SIGINT) information. The objective of this effort, the Semantic Service Oriented Architecture for Dynamic Intelligence (SSDI), is to develop a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and methodologies for the AFRL Net-Centric SIGINT Focused Information System (NCSFIS) to enable net-centric knowledge sharing for dynamic, actionable intelligence operations.

CTC subject matter experts in Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) will develop and test techniques that will improve internal communications, as well as means to communicate externally with the Global Information Grid. This will accelerate the operational use of machine intelligence in SIGINT processing so that analysts can focus on real-time threats as they arise and let the routine tasking be processed and sorted for later review.

"This award to CTC was based on a number of criteria, including the overall scientific and/or technical merit of the proposal, the potential contributions of the effort to the mission and overall research and development program of AFRL, and the consideration of past and present performance of CTC on recent government contracts," stated DeVos.

This program is being sponsored by AFRL. Headquartered at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, AFRL was created in October 1997 through the consolidation of four former Air Force laboratories and the Air Force Office of Scientific Research. AFRL's mission is leading the discovery, development, and integration of affordable warfighting technologies for America’s aerospace forces. It is a full-spectrum laboratory, responsible for planning and executing the Air Force’s science and technology program. The laboratory provides leading-edge warfighting capabilities keeping our air, space, and cyberspace forces the world’s best.
