David Saranchak, Research Fellow and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Program Lead at Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC), has been named President-Elect of the Military Operations Research Society (MORS).
MORS is an international organization that supports members in tackling the toughest operations research and systems engineering challenges.
“I am extremely honored to be elected by this organization that is providing a vital service for national security,” said Saranchak. “I will work closely with the MORS Executive Council and Board to set the strategic direction for the society, which helps arm DoD and Homeland Security communities with powerful emerging techniques and technologies. By creating a healthy and vibrant scientific environment, we will solve the most significant problems of our generation and ensure the safety of the citizens of the United States.
“The field of operations research has a unique place in history as a disruptive technology due to its impacts upon the outcome of military operations during and since WWII. Today’s contested environments reside at the intersections of the cognitive, digital, and physical domains. Operations research for national security must adapt to the latest threats, and MORS, which has scientific innovation and defense in our DNA, will lead the way.”
Saranchak will take office as MORS President in June 2021.
