Johnstown, PA December 18, 2024
Every year, Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) and Enterprise Ventures Corporation (EVC) employees demonstrate their generosity during the season of giving.
New Way of Giving: Stockings for Soldiers
This year we added a new charity, Stockings for Soldiers, a non-profit organization that supports our military in a unique way and resonates with our employees, whose work benefits our warfighters. Many employees contributed money and/or purchased items that the military members would appreciate.
Among those contributing to this program was EVC Inventory Specialist/Clerk Samantha Weyant, who worked with her three young daughters to donate items and fill an incredible 20 stockings. They stuffed each one and included personal heartfelt cards for the recipients. "It’s the reason for the season," Samantha said, while emphasizing their focus on kindness and community year-round.
Continuing Charitable Traditions
Toys for Tots – Employees contributed to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program, donating quite a few toys for children in need.
Help an Angel in Shelter – Staff members bought $1 paper angels, with all proceeds going to those working to rebuild their lives with the services of the Women’s Help Center in Johnstown.
Salvation Army Treasure Tags & Bell Ringing – Children and seniors benefit from Salvation Army Treasure Tags, which include the first name and age of the recipient. Employees chose a tag then bought appropriate gifts to be given this holiday season.
In addition, several employees volunteer year after year to ring the bell at one of the familiar Salvation Army red kettles. This year Haley Bicko woke up early from her room at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe and drove to Johnstown to join her mother Lisa in their family tradition.
Heartwarming Group Efforts
Rather than exchange presents among themselves, employees in the Contracts, Subcontracts, Procurement, and the Proposal Shop bought requested presents and household items for a family in the care of the Women’s Help Center. Special thanks to Brooke Cheskiewicz who coordinated this effort and did all the shopping!
The Information Technology (IT) Division also collected money for Christmas gifts and needed household items for a mom and her five children being helped by the Women’s Help Center. Thank you to Carol Pudliner for coordinating this generous group activity.
Folks working in Huntsville, AL, sponsored a child through the FOCAL of Madison County organization, which helps foster children and their parents. We appreciate Randall McCutcheon’s work to coordinate this effort.
