Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) is honored to announce that it has been featured in the October 26, 2025, article “The Development of MIM Cartridge Cases” in the magazine American Rifleman, published by the National Rifle Association (NRA).

The article chronicles CTC’s multi-year development of lightweight cartridge-case technology using metal-injection-molding (MIM) of high-strength stainless steel. Starting in 2014 with an Army contract, CTC evaluated multiple technologies, selected the material and process, and progressed through engineering, testing and manufacturing scale-up. Between 2018 and 2022, the company demonstrated capability across several calibers, fired over 200,000 rounds in government platforms, and scaled to production relevant volumes over 300,000 parts.

CTC’s work resulted in:

  • Precision-engineered case geometry with tighter tolerances and consistent ballistic performance.
  • Validated strength at extreme pressures (~100,000 psi) and performance gains of 10-20% over brass in some systems.
  • Commercial discussions in progress toward future availability of the technology.
