In honor of Veterans Day, CTC and EVC employees came together to support the Red Shirt Friday initiative — and our gratitude was felt far beyond our walls.

A few of our team members visited the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center’s Community Living Center in Altoona, PA, to deliver custom red T-Shirts to every resident. The shirts were purchased through our company-wide Red Shirt Friday campaign, which also generated a donation for the center.

We presented John Clay, Voluntary Services Supervisor at the James E. Van Zandt VAMC, with a check for $601.75 — made up of $400 raised during the EVC 25th Anniversary Luncheon and $201.75 from additional donations and a price break due to our large T-shirt order.

“It was an honor to deliver the T-shirts and check on behalf of all CTC and EVC employees,” said Mary Kaseler. “The Veterans were so kind and thankful — but truly, their service and sacrifice are what deserve our gratitude.”

A True Team Effort

CTC’s Jorge Benitez and Greg Jablunovsky, both military veterans, joined Mary Kaseler and her daughter to hand-deliver the shirts to residents.

A special thank you goes to Cari DeAngelo, who designed the T-shirts, and Sondre Harteis, who folded each shirt so that the flag design was perfectly displayed when handed out, and to every employee who contributed—through ordering shirts, donating funds, or helping with logistics.

This effort truly showcased the teamwork, respect, and community spirit that define CTC and EVC.
