Brandon Hody, a Senior Safety and Occupational Health Professional at Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC), was recently recognized for his contributions to the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) Council on Practices and Standards (CoPS) and the occupational safety, health, and environmental profession. 

Hody was named the 2022 Safety Professional of the Year (SPY) for his contributions to the Public Sector Practice Specialty and the 2022 SPY for the Training and Communications Practice Specialty. Brandon is also a past recipient of the SPY award for the Public Sector Practice Specialty, receiving the honor in 2016.

Brandon has held a variety of roles on each committee in both the Public Sector and Training and Communications Practice Specialties of ASSP since 2014 and 2017, respectively. Most recently, Brandon served as the Administrator of the Public Sector Practice Specialty from July 2019 to July 2021, leading the practice specialty to Gold Community Recognition by ASSP both years. 

The CoPS awards were established in the early 1970s to recognize ASSP practice specialty members who have helped advance the occupational safety, health, and environmental profession through exemplary volunteer service to the ASSP and to their respective practice specialty.
