Concurrent Technologies Corporation and Sciaky, Inc., Enter Strategic Partnership to Expand Metal Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) Offerings

CTC to Leverage Sciaky’s Electron Beam Additive Manufacturing (EBAM) Technology to Provide High-Quality, Large-Scale Metal Parts Faster than Ever

CTC is partnering with Sciaky to offer their Electron Beam Additive Manufacturing, process development and engineering services to produce large-scale, high-value metal parts faster than ever.

Johnstown, PA June 26, 2018

Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) and Sciaky, Inc., a subsidiary of Phillips Service Industries, Inc. (PSI), are pleased to announce that they have entered a strategic partnership to support a growing demand for high-quality, large-scale additively manufactured metal parts.

CTC has a 30-year history in metals and metal processing solutions and is well known for providing innovative laser powder bed fusion, hybrid additive manufacturing, and cold spray solutions to its clients. This strategic partnership enables CTC to expand its offerings to include Sciaky’s Electron Beam Additive Manufacturing (EBAM®). EBAM is a one-of-a-kind metal additive manufacturing technology that delivers parts faster, with less material waste, reduced machining time, and shorter time-to-market.

Large-scale forgings and castings can take many, many months to complete. EBAM, on the other hand, can produce high quality, large-scale metal structures, up to 19 feet in length, made of titanium, tantalum, and nickel-based alloys in a matter of days, with very little material waste. In addition, the EBAM process can be used in any phase of the product life cycle: from rapid prototypes and production parts to repair and remanufacturing applications.

“We are extremely pleased to announce this newly formed strategic partnership with Sciaky,” said Edward J. Sheehan, Jr., CTC President and Chief Executive Officer. “We are grateful for this opportunity to collaborate with the talented team at Sciaky. Our clients will realize numerous benefits thanks to this arrangement.”

Scott Phillips, Sciaky President and Chief Executive Officer, adds, “Sciaky is excited to work with CTC and help educate its clients about the real-world benefits of EBAM technology. When compared to traditional forging methods, EBAM offers significant competitive advantages for customers all over the world by drastically reducing production time, waste, and costs associated with manufacturing large, high-value metal parts.”
